Humming Bird Original Painting 5x7

The hummingbird belongs to the whole Caribbean.

This is for one painting only - but pairs well with the hibiscus painting if available on my site. 

Jamaica claimed it as the Doctor Bird, a swallow-tail hummingbird found nowhere else on earth, woven into folklore as a magical creature and a spirit of the dead. Trinidad and Tobago named it their national bird too. Across the region, in different languages and different traditions, the hummingbird keeps showing up as a messenger, a sign, something between this world and the next.

This painting catches it mid-hover, reaching toward something just out of frame. That felt right. The hummingbird is always in motion, always purposeful, never still long enough for you to fully see it.
